In honor of International Women’s day we salute the women artists of Manneken Press:
Mel Cook, LJ Douglas, Rhea Edge, Betty Friedman, Mary Judge, Judy Ledgerwood, Claire Lieberman, Jane McNichol, Kate Petley, Sarah Smelser, Joan Winter and Brenda Zappitell.
Amazing artists, all!
Mary Judge signed her two new etching editions last week.
We are photographing the two new prints, various color trial proofs and state proofs in preparation for getting them up on the website. The prints will have their public debut in Manneken Press’ booth (B38) at the Editions/Artists’ Books Fair next month in New York City.
Mary Judge will be showing new drawings in a solo exhibition at Kenise Barnes Fine Art in Larchmont, NY, also in November.
Mary Judge returned to Manneken Press right after Labor Day to complete the etchings she began in June.
Jonathan Higgins is hard at work printing editions of the pair of 3-plate etching and aquatints. Manneken Press will feature these new prints at the Editions/Artist’s Book Fair in New York, November 3-6. The prints will also be seen in Mary Judge’s solo exhibition at Kenise Barnes Fine Art which opens on November 5th.
St. Louis/Brooklyn/Italy based artist Mary Judge comes to Manneken Press
Mary Judge began a new project of multi-plate color aquatints last week. The prints are abstracted flower forms, a theme the artist has been investigating in various modes for a number of years. Mary returns to Manneken Press later in the summer to continue work on this series.
