The Chromatic Patterns After the Graham Foundation deluxe portfolio brings together three of Judy Ledgerwood’s vibrant “Chromatic Patterns” prints—striking combinations of day-glo hues and glittering silver that closely echo her immersive 2014 installation at the Graham Foundation—and a poem by John Yau. Yau, a poet, art critic, and longtime friend of Ledgerwood, wrote the poem in response to experiencing the installation; it is silkscreened in silver ink on white paper.
The pink portfolio case, designed by the late Chicago designer Jason Pickleman, features a silkscreened title and colophon and is fastened with a grommet and grosgrain ribbon. Produced in a limited edition of eight, the prints are signed on the reverse and numbered in Roman numerals to distinguish this deluxe set from the standard edition of twenty. Yau’s poem is not signed. The portfolio case measures 32.5 × 24 × 0.5 inches, while the prints and poem each measure 22 × 30 inches.
The portfolio was included in Disguise the Limit: John Yau’s Collaborations, an exhibition at the University of Kentucky Art Museum in 2024, and is documented in the accompanying catalog.
