An essay written by Manneken Press proprietor Jonathan Higgins defines photogravure and gives a brief description of the process and how it differs from other photo-printmaking techniques. There are also plenty of images of Manneken Press prints, as well as others by Chuck Close, Robert Mapplethorpe, John Baldessari, and others.
"Emergence", a solo exhibition of digital photography, videos, and projected light/images by Manneken Press artist Gary Justis, opens this week at Los Angeles Center for Digital Art.
