We are thrilled to announce that the Pierpont Morgan Library & Museum has acquired Edie Fake’s new etchings for their permanent collection.
Not to miss:
the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago is currently featuring Edie Fake’s mural “The Free Clinic For Gender Affirming Care” as part of their Atrium Project Series. The installation coincides, and is in conversation with, City in a Garden: Queer Art and Activism in Chicago, an exhibition at the MCA that opened on July 5, 2025, curated by Jack Schneider. City in a Garden examines Chicago’s underacknowledged role in the histories of queer art and activism beginning in the 1980s, when activists radically mobilized in response to the US government’s disastrous handling of the AIDS crisis and reclaimed the historically pejorative epithet “queer” as a liberatory term encompassing all who purposefully deviate from heteronormative society. With works drawn from the MCA Collection and other local collections, the exhibition features over thirty artists—including Fake.
