Recent, current and upcoming exhibitions by Manneken Press artists

Jonathan Higgins is exhibiting metalpoint drawings in point/line/shape/form, a 5-person exhibition at the McLean County Art Center in Bloomington, IL. The exhibition runs through February 18, with a reception for the artists on Friday, January 20, 5 – 7 pm.

Philip Van Keuren’s 2016 photogravure “Shrub II” is included in Idols And Impossible Structures: New Prints 2017/Winter at the IPCNY, 508 W 26th Street, 5th Floor, New York, NY. Exhibition dates are January 19 – April 1 2017, with an opening reception on Thursday January 19, 6 – 8 pm.

Kate Petley has a solo exhibition of paintings at Robischon Gallery, 1740 Wazee Street, Denver, CO. Show dates are January 12 – March 4, 2017.

A monotype by Sarah Smelser was included in the Nasty Women Exhibition, January 12 – 15th at the Knockdown Center, Maspeth, Queens, NYC. The show was “a group exhibition that serves to demonstrate solidarity among artists who identify with being a Nasty Woman in the face of threats to roll back women’s rights, individual rights, and abortion rights”. Proceeds from the show raised more than $35,000 to benefit Planned Parenthood. This exhibition was the first of at least twenty seven similarly themed and titled shows that will take place in venues across the United States and as far away as Brussels, Melbourne and Amsterdam in the coming months. The exhibition received a lot of press, including notices in the Huffington Post and Hyperallergic.

smoking a fag/kissing a man, Jack Davidson’s solo exhibition of collages at CB1 Gallery in Los Angeles, CA ran from November 5 – December 23, 2016.

Recent Prints and Projects From Manneken Press, a selection of prints and portfolios published from 2014 through 2017, will be shown at Wakeley Gallery, Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington, IL. Exhibition dates are February 27 – March 30, with an opening reception on March 2, 5 – 6 pm.
